Arvinder Thiara, MD, FAAP

 

I grew up in Punjab, India, surrounded by loving parents, two brothers, and my extended family of grandparents, uncles, aunts, and cousins. I dreamed of becoming a doctor for as long as I can remember.  My parents were an integral part of shaping my dream and supporting me through this journey. This dream came true when I got accepted at the state medical school, Government Medical College in Amritsar. I met my husband right after I completed medical school and moved to the San Francisco Bay Area. Moving across the globe was a challenging but rewarding experience. It helped me grow personally and I felt more confident to take on any challenges.

I completed my internship and residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry, New Jersey. Choosing Pediatrics as my specialty was an easy decision for me. I was always quick to build rapport and connection with children. I believe in creating a great foundation, which starts in childhood and continues on for a lifelong healthy lifestyle.
